Get ready for one of Fakenham’s biggest and most exciting Easter traditions! Our Town Centre 5K, 1K Fun Run, and adorable Toddle’n’Trike for under-fives bring the whole community together for a morning of movement, celebration and fun.
Whether you’re chasing a new PB, taking on your first-ever race, or simply enjoying a lively walk with friends and family—everyone is welcome on our vibrant town-centre circuit.

And new for 2026 — each 5K runner will receive individual lap times, along with an overall finishing time!

5K Affiliated runners £14, unaffiliated £16 (includes admin fee)
1k Fun Run £5 plus £1.10 admin fee (Children must have a responsible adult)
Toddle’n’Trike £5 on the day
Online entry is open until the limit is reached.

On-the-day entries will only be available if spaces remain—so secure your place early!
Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred.
You can transfer your place to another runner until midnight on 31/03/2026.

UKA rules say we can’t give out prizes for the fun runs, but every child will still receive a medal and a goodie bag to celebrate taking part!

There will be stalls in the town centre and viewing, food and drinks around the course

New for 2026, the Active Fakenham Team Challenge Shield adds an exciting competitive element to our popular Easter  Sunday 5K Run Day.

This challenge is designed specifically for local businesses and community groups to come together, get active, and enjoy the event atmosphere.

Please note: This is a business & community team challenge and is not open to running clubs.


How the Team Challenge Works

Teams can be as large as you like.

The first three finishers from each team will have their times combined, and the fastest overall team will be awarded the:

1K Fun Run – Community Group and Club Participation


Exciting News for Our Easter Sunday Fun Run!  🏅


We’re delighted to introduce a brand-new addition to this year’s event.

Local clubs and community groups are invited to take part in the  1K Fun Run, showcasing their organisations and activities as part of this fun, community-focused day.

Participating groups will start from the back of the 1K Fun Run and are welcome to hand out leaflets or promotional materials along the route.

Please note: While promotion is encouraged, fundraising during the run is not permitted.

  • Fakenham Ospreys Canoe Club – Carrying a canoe

• 5K runners register at the Fak enham Community Centre, Oak St. NR21 9DY. Go to the registration desk to collect your number and timing chip.
• 1K Fun runners sign up by 11.15. Registration opens at 9.30 in the market place.
• The 5K race sign in desk opens at 8.45 and closes at 10.00.am. There will be a briefing for all 5K runners at 10.20pm at the start line.
• Entry on the day for the 5K will be at the Community Centre. Entry for the Fun Run will be in the market place. There is a maximum limit on the number of runners in each race so we may have to close on-the-day entry.
Free parking is available at Tesco and Aldi - they have kindly agreed to turn off their cameras for the day

Rules, Terms & Conditions

I agree to be photographed/videoed during the event.

Active Fakenham will only use these images for promotional purposes such as promoting Active Fakenham activities on our website, social media, display boards, and local media, and in applications or reports to funding bodies. We will not include any of your personal details when using these images without your specific permission. We will store all images in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. These images will not be used for any purpose that may be viewed as negative in tone or that may cause offence, embarrassment or distress. You will be able to view the images and change these permissions within a reasonable period by e-mailing.

Timing: Each runner for the 5k will be fitted with a timing chip by Total Race Timing and individual times will be loaded to our website, their website and https://www.runbritain.com/.  

Minimum age for 5K Run is 11 years old.

The races are run under UKA Rules and by signing up you are agreeing to race under these conditions.

 These websites provide information about parking in Fakenham.

Please note that there will be limited or no access to some car parks as some roads will be closed.
http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/fakenham/  In previous years we have arranged for the Tesco and Aldi car parks to be available all day for no charge (they will turn the cameras off). We are hoping to confirm this will be the same this year.

Insurance: The event has £10 million liability insurance. This does not cover damage to your personal property; you are advised to have your own insurance for this and to keep it safe.

What happens if I get an injury? We have taken every step to ensure that the ride is as safe as possible. You are responsible for your personal safety on the public road. We will have MED-PTS at the community centre.

Parking is available nearby, some of which is free. 
In previous years both Tesco and Aldi have permitted free parking for the day as both stores are closed. We are discussing with them if this will be possible for Easter Sunday 2026 but this has not yet been confirmed.

Changing and storage facilities: There are limited changing and storage facilities in the community centre. Bags and other belongings can be left at your own risk in the hall, but we cannot take responsibility for them.

Please be polite to the marshals and other helpers who are volunteering and giving up their time to make this event a success.
