Active Fakenham Brings The Tailor of Gloucester to Local Schoolchildren

Active Fakenham is delighted to be working with Fakenham Community Centre and Creative Arts East to bring a very special production of Beatrix Potter's The Tailor of Gloucester to children from Fakenham Infant School.

They have arranged and funded this special performance, which will take place on Friday 13 November 2026, for children in Years 1 and 2. We have also funded transport to and from the venue, ensuring that all the children have the opportunity to enjoy a live theatre experience.

A Magical New Production from Farnham Maltings

The show is presented by Farnham Maltings, an established arts organisation and theatre producer based in Surrey, which creates and tours professional theatre to communities across the country.

This exciting new adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale has been written by Alex Kanefsky, with an original musical score by double Olivier Award-winning composer Darren Clark.

Featuring a cast of four performers, the production combines live rock and pop music, inventive puppetry, humour and plenty of surprises to bring the story of a struggling tailor and three ambitious mice vividly to life.

It's a colourful, funny and heartwarming story about courage, friendship, community and the importance of helping others.

We hope the children will thoroughly enjoy this wonderful production and that it will spark their imagination and enthusiasm for live theatre.

This is another example of Active Fakenham working with local and regional partners to bring arts, culture and creative experiences to our community, particularly to young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience professional live theatre.
