FAF26 Community Arts Trail

Explore Fakenham, discover art and join the picture hunt

As part of Fakenham Arts Festival 2026, Active Fakenham has created a free Community Arts Trail around the town, running from 1st to 28th August 2026.

The trail has 11 stops to visit and enjoy. It is designed for families, children and anyone who would like to discover art in a fun, relaxed and accessible way.

At each stop, you will find a picture, a QR code linking to a short spoken description, and questions to help you look more closely at the artwork and the techniques used.

Children can collect a free trail pack, including pencils, colouring pictures, a leaflet and a map. Packs will be available from Fakenham Library, Stephenson Smart and Central Cinema, while stocks last.

As you follow the route, look carefully — two of the pictures are by local artists. Spot them both, discover the link between all the paintings, and you can enter the prize draw.

A numbered map will help guide you around the trail, making it easy to follow the route through the town centre and beyond.

The FAF26 Community Arts Trail is free to take part in and offers a simple, enjoyable way to explore Fakenham, support local venues and celebrate creativity across the community.

Don’t forget to look out for local artists’ work in shops and venues as you walk around the town, and visit the new art boards in the revamped passageway between the Parish Church and the Market Place.

Trail audio

The trail audio descriptions, accessed by scanning the QR codes, are read by Richard Tree, a well-known local actor, radio presenter, 1940s vocalist and re-enactor.

Many people will also know Richard as a popular compere at our festivals, as well as for his podcasts recording veterans’ stories and local folklore. He also occasionally appears as a film and TV extra.

Richard is supposed to be retired!
