Active Fakenham delivers three events in one day as Ride North Norfolk enters its 14th year

Active Fakenham celebrates a busy summer as Ride North Norfolk enters its 14th year

Active Fakenham is preparing for the 14th Ride North Norfolk, which takes place on Sunday 30 August, following another busy week of community events in the town.

Places are still available for Ride North Norfolk, Active Fakenham’s friendly, non-competitive cycling event, with routes suitable for a wide range of riders. Entries can be booked through the Active Fakenham website.

The event comes at the end of a particularly active August for the volunteer-run community organisation.

On one day alone, Active Fakenham helped deliver three successful activities in Fakenham.

A screening of Caravaggio, presented as part of the Fakenham Arts Festival 2026 (FAF26) and Fakenham Film Festival 2026 (FFF26) programmes, attracted a packed audience at Fakenham Central Cinema.

At the same time, a group of enthusiastic local residents attended a free defibrillator and emergency bleed awareness session, learning practical skills and gaining confidence about what to do in a medical emergency.

Meanwhile, FAF26 continues throughout the town until the end of August, with work by local and regional artists displayed in shops, cafés, businesses and community venues across Fakenham.

Active Fakenham Chair Richard Crook said:

“August has been an exceptionally busy month for Active Fakenham. It was great to see a packed cinema, local people taking part in an important emergency awareness session and the Arts Festival continuing across the town — all on the same day.

“We are now looking forward to Ride North Norfolk on 30 August. It is our 14th year and we hope plenty more cyclists will join us. It is a friendly event rather than a race, with a choice of routes and a warm welcome in Fakenham. The ride attracts people from all over and we get a lot of local people taking part.”

Ride North Norfolk offers routes of approximately 15, 25, 36, 66 and 102 miles, giving families, leisure cyclists and more experienced riders the opportunity to take part.

Places are still available and can be booked through the Active Fakenham website.
