What is Fakenham 50?

It’s a social, leisure cycle ride starting from the picturesque North Norfolk market town of Fakenham through some of the best gentle cycling routes in the country. It is a local ride that will end an exciting week of activities in and around the town.

How long are the routes?
Choose from four great routes of different approximate lengths:
23 km (14 miles), 58 km (37 miles), 81km (51m) or 119k (74m)

Have one on us. The two longer rides are two circuits.

What will I get for entering?
At this friendly event you will be provided with:

  • a map
  • signage
  • drinks and nutrition, including our respected home made flapjack F50 - 6P3A6709
  • advice and information
  • a trophy when you finish.
  • collect your goodie bag on arrival
  • public liability insurance
  • marshals
  • mobile mechanic
  • support and information
  • rescue service
  • our local knowledge and experience
  • a social event at the Community Centre and garden including food, music and stalls

What else is going on?
What’s more, you can relax after a hard day’s pedalling at Fakenham Community Centre and gardens . Available to everyone all day, including non-riders. It will feature locally sourced stalls, massage, food, drink, live music from local band Calamity, and bar.

Is the Fakenham 50 for me?British Cycling
This is a cycle ride and a day out that caters for most abilities. If you can ride a bicycle, you should be able to take part. If you are an experienced cyclist you can do one or two circuits (up to 119k). The countryside has gentle slopes and no big hills.

Everyone is welcome to come and pedal with us. Register now to be part of this exhilarating day.

Registration on the day from 8.00 am

Depart between 9.00 am and 11.30

Go local. We are a locally organized, but professionally run, cycle ride. Local charities, local companies, local clubs and locally sourced produce where possible. Everyone is welcome to join us to enjoy our market town and its beautiful surroundings.

Do I have to be a member of British Cycling to join the ride or to register online?
No. We are working with British Cycling who are providing online entry systems and insurance but you do not need to be a member. You will need to register with British Cycling as part of the process.

Accommodation and things going on in Fakenham: There are B&Bs, hotels, 2 campsites, and 2 caravan sites. Fakenham is ten miles from the North Norfolk coast and is hosting a week of activities prior to the ride. There is plenty of parking, some of it free, buses from Norwich, Kings Lynn and the Coast. Why not come for a longer break over the Bank Holiday weekend.
