Town Champions

Fakenham Town champions

Active Fakenham is working with local organisations to recruit and develop a network of Town Champions.  These are a first point of contact for people looking to learn more about an activity and they also promote their own area of interest. You can speak or make contact directly with the person to find out more about their area of interest.

What do Fakenham Town Champions do?

  • Be a first point of contact for your activity (e.g. if someone is interested in folk dancing or singing they could contact that person)
  • Signpost to relevant activities. So they do not only promote their own organisation but are aware of other organisations or groups in the town who may be able to provide the activity.
  • Organise taster sessions in partnership with Active Fakenham of their activity to showcase it

Contact Richard Crook, from Active Fakenham, if you have any questions or wish to discuss Fakenham Town Champions. richard@activefakenham.org.uk 07887 803091

Each month we will feature a different Town Champion in the Fakenham Sun (http://www.fakenhamsun.co.uk/), Fakenham’s free newspaper.  Some of the contacts below have the previous articles attached.

Horticulture and Gardening

Fakenham and District Horticultural Association (Pat is Secretary)

The role is wider than just supporting FDHA and I would see it as a signposting to other groups and resources in the area, e.g. local allotments, regional groups and also the resources of national groups such as the Royal Horticultural Society, National Garden Scheme or the Soil Association.
