Go local. We are a locally organized, but efficiently run, cycle ride. Local charities, local companies, local clubs and locally sourced produce where possible. Everyone is welcome to join us to enjoy our market town and its beautiful surroundings.
What do I do when I arrive?
You must report to the Community Centre, register and receive your welcome pack. Don’t forget to report back at the end of your ride or we will be looking for you.
What can the mechanic help me with?
Every rider will be given an emergency number to contact the mechanic at any stage of the race, should there be any mechanical difficulty. Please try to sort out your own minor problems. Riders should bring their own puncture repair kit and pump, as the mechanic will not be doing this. There will be experienced cyclists going around the route with you who will be happy to help.
What if I haven’t got a bike?
We can help you to hire a bike and some local people may be able to lend bikes on the understanding that if you damage it you get it repaired.

No these are forbidden by British Cycling and our insurance company.
Can I change the distance/ride I have signed up for?
Yes, this is not a problem. Sort this out at registration on the day.
I have a food allergy, will this be a problem at the “feed stations”?
It may be depending on your allergy. There may be traces of nuts in the flapjack and other snacks (although we have not added them). If you are concerned please get in touch.
Have there been changes to the 2016 ride?
We have listened to the feedback we got last year and have made some minor changes. Generally the feedback was very positive. We have improved the routes, signage and will have an additional sign in desk. We now have a wide range of rides from 15 to 100 miles..
Short massages will be available from four local professional massage therapists. Each will offer different short massages at low cost. If you have never had had a massage then here’s your chance to find out more and have a try. If you get tired legs, an aching back or just want to relax try the massage zone.. More details to follow.
I have a question what shall I do?
We are keen to keep in touch. You can email, ring, Facebook or Tweet us.
I have been asked about child trailers on the Fakenham 50. These are ok and are covered by our British Cycling insurance but you need to make sure they are in good working order and be aware our breakdown rescue service may not be able to carry them back to HQ. As with all riders you need to ensure you ride safely and stick to the guidelines and rules – and, of course have a fun time.
There are two good camping and caravan sites within 10 min ride of the start.
